Military & Veteran Care
Trauma informed treatment for service members, veterans, and the families who serve alongside them.
As a veteran owned practice, we understand military culture from the inside. Our clinicians treat post traumatic stress, moral injury, combat trauma, and co-occurring substance use with the directness and respect service members expect.
Service members and veterans carry a specific set of experiences into treatment: deployment cycles, unit cohesion, loss, chronic hypervigilance, and the identity shift that comes with leaving the service. Care that does not account for that context tends to stall.
Our clinical approach draws on the treatments with the strongest evidence base for post traumatic stress disorder, including cognitive processing therapy and prolonged exposure principles, delivered at a pace that respects nervous system capacity. Trauma work is paced, not rushed, and stabilization comes first.
Moral injury gets explicit attention here. Guilt, shame, and betrayal related distress respond to different clinical work than fear based trauma, and treating them interchangeably is a common reason veterans conclude that therapy does not work for them.
Substance use is addressed at the same time as trauma, never as a prerequisite. Sequencing trauma treatment behind sobriety milestones is a dated model that leaves too many veterans cycling between programs.
