Intensive Outpatient Program

Comprehensive treatment several days a week, scheduled around work, school, and family life.

The intensive outpatient program delivers substantial clinical support on a schedule that fits a working life. Clients keep their jobs, classes, and caregiving responsibilities while attending multiple treatment sessions each week.

IOP is the most common level of care in behavioral health for good reason. It provides enough contact hours to create real change while keeping clients connected to the routines, relationships, and responsibilities that recovery ultimately has to survive inside of.

Our groups run in consistent cohorts so that trust has a chance to build. Members arrive at similar points in their recovery, work through a structured curriculum together, and hold one another accountable in a way that individual therapy alone cannot replicate.

Morning and evening tracks are available. Clients stepping down from partial hospitalization keep the same primary clinician wherever possible, so progress carries forward instead of restarting.

What clients gain

Questions about intensive outpatient program

Yes. That is the point of the program. Our evening track is built for adults who work standard business hours, and the morning track serves clients on night shifts or with daytime caregiving responsibilities.

Most adults attend for roughly eight to twelve weeks, with session frequency tapering as stability improves. Your team reviews progress with you regularly and adjusts the plan rather than holding to a preset end date.

Substance use programming includes routine, clinically appropriate testing. Testing is a treatment tool used to support honesty and safety, not a punitive measure. A positive result prompts a clinical conversation and a plan, not automatic discharge.

Return to use is common in the course of recovery and is treated as clinical information. We reassess your level of care, adjust the treatment plan, and step you up to PHP if that is what safety requires.

This page is general health information, not medical advice. Level of care recommendations are made only after a clinical assessment. If you or someone you love is in immediate danger, call 911, or call or text 988 to reach the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline.
